|Meet Lukas, our archery expert.|
Lukas is probably the craziest of the bunch and as such always up for stock ideas most other models would lynch me for. Running, jumping, falling and if I make him do all that with weapons all the better... If you're looking for (correct) archery shots, he's your guy (and his photos some of the best archery stock-resources you can find on dA)!
If you want to talk to him directly, have a look at his dA-account Lugimugi - although he uses it mostly for lurking and snarky replies on his own stock-pics.
I will no longer play this game
Now, most of the stock models here are my friends - some of them like being complimented others find it a bit awkward in real life. But this is stock photography. The relative attractiveness of my models should NOT be important, yet somehow every other day I get a "she's hot" or a "would fuck her" in my inbox.
Fucking stop already.
I read through some old comments and realised just how often that happened and I remembered how some of these comments made me think "jesus, what the fuck, you creep" even at the time and yet for some reason I STILL SAID THANK YOU?!
I guess it's what most women do - say thanks, make a light-hearted joke to ease out of the awkwardness and move on. But I just realised... I seriously don't have the time or nerve for this bullshit anymore.
I get that there are tons of photos of attractive women on deviantart and very often, that's just the point of that photo. To show an attractive woman. And that is a legitimate reason, absolutely fine. Strut your stuff, ladies. Get your imagination going, gentlemen. Have fun, everyone around.
BUT stock photography has a different purpose. A purpose where the attractiveness of the model is of little to no importance. So WHY would you choose to comment on that? And very often ONLY on that?
Actually. I don't care why.
It makes me, my models, my friends (and countless women all over the world who are constantly wolfwhistled, catcalled and harrassed when simply walking down the street) uncomfortable. And this is should be enough to make you think twice about "complimenting" her this way.
But I guess if you're honest with yourself for a moment, it's not about making that women feel good about herself by complimenting her, is it?
Consider this a fair warning.
PS: I will go and delete some of these comments on my photos. I do not want people to read them and think it's okay to say things like that - I realise I contributed to this creepy behaviour for much too long and I should've put a stop to it much earlier. I'm done playing.
